At Haig-Brown Optometry we now offer low-level light therapy (LLRL) with red and yellow light for patients after blepharoplasty.
After blepharoplasty, managing postoperative swelling, inflammation, and optimising healing is crucial.
Red light
Promotes wound healing by stimulating cellular processes, boosting ATP in the mitochondria aiding collagen and elastin production, enhancing recovery and tissue repair.
Yellow light
Together, this light therapy addresses both swelling and healing—making it especially beneficial in the post-surgical eyelid area.

Skin may feel warm or slightly pink for a few hours after treatment.
Apply a gentle, hydrating moisturiser and broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily. Wear sunglasses and a hat with a brim when outside for the first week or longer as directed by the surgeon.
